Southern Snows: The Latest

Snow and sleet continues to be in the forecast for the Deep South. Pockets of 4-6 inches of snow are expected across southeastern Oklahoma and western Arkansas, northeastern Texas and northwestern Louisiana and south-central Mississippi and western Alabama. Snow, without significant accumulation, is expected to reach the north central Gulf Coast. Precipitation will end from west to east as the low pressure area in the Gulf of Mexico moves quickly eastward and be mostly finished by tomorrow evening. As temperatures will be near freezing and the Gulf air very moist, this will be a heavy, wet snow. Be prepared for downed tree limbs and power lines.
